Drink Water To Manage Your Weight and Stay Healthy

Summer is peaking around the corner, the weather is getting warmer, and yes...it's almost swimsuit season again. But don’t worry, there is still time to prepare for the summer heat and to get your body into better shape. One of your most important tools should be drinking a minimum of eight 8oz glasses of water per day. This article will explore how water can help you lose weight and increase your overall energy and well-being.

Approximately 2/3 of our body is made up of water, yet many of us often fail to drink the recommended daily amounts. Drinking water is a powerful tool in combating a number of health issues as well as making you feel better. Since the brain is 85% water, dehydration greatly decreases the level of energy in the brain. This ultimately can result in depression and chronic fatigue syndrome. Just a 2% loss of water affects your brain speed and functionality, and impairs your ability to concentrate. If you often feel fatigue, depression, cramping, water retention/bloating, headaches and digestive problems, it may be due to dehydration. The fatigue felt while dehydrated also means you are more likely to turn to food to boost your energy. Staying hydrated can boost your metabolism, meaning you will burn more calories throughout the day.

Increase Metabolism
Water is essential for speeding up and powering the metabolism’s bio-chemical processes; and, as we all know, a faster metabolism means more calories burned throughout the day.

Suppress Your Appetite
Water is the most natural appetite suppressant you can put into your body. It creates a feeling of satiety or fullness, making you less inclined to eat. One way to maximize the appetite suppressant effect of water is to drink eight ounces of water right before a meal.

Decrease Fluid Retention
If you are concerned about weight gain due to drinking too much water, you should not be. It is the dehydration that causes water retention and not the consumption of water. When your body is dehydrated, it will tend to hold on to whatever water it has.

Detoxify
Staying hydrated decreases the stress on your kidneys and allows your body to naturally expel any toxins.

Increase Absorption
An insufficient amount of water impedes the digestion, absorption and assimilation of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, glucose and many other nutrients. This leads to cravings and hunger pangs, which leads to eating and the consumption of unnecessary calories, which ultimately contributes to weight gain.

Stay Healthy
From the natural perspective, prevention is always the best "cure." By consuming those essential eight to ten glasses of water throughout the day, you could be on your way to a healthier, leaner body. As Thomas Edison put it, "the doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease."

With water playing such an important role in almost every physiological activity in the body, it’s no wonder staying hydrated can increase your metabolism, help you lose weight, raise energy levels and help with absorption and assimilation of vitamins and minerals. What is surprising is that many of us do not take the small steps necessary to drink enough water and take a multi-vitamin to stay healthy. Pay attention to your body’s needs: make drinking water and taking your favorite ALL ONE formula a daily routine!

Testimonials

"Thanks heaps. I take the ALL ONE daily...one day the Multiple Vitamins and Minerals for Active Seniors and the next day the Multiple Vitamins and Minerals Green Phyto Base. Everyday the Totally Fiber...which by the way DOES NOT have an offensive taste. I put it with applesauce.

The weight loss has been 23lbs in the last three months and I have had energy (that some days I am not sure what to do with). I can walk and not have to use the wheel chair when shopping. As our 15th grandchild is due June 2, I am thrilled to be able to live a life full of activity and not be confined to a chair or wheel chair.

Thank you again for a magnificant product!"

“I’m writing in appreciation for the outstanding health product ALL ONE Multiple Vitamins and Minerals for Active Seniors.  It is the fastest acting Vitamin and Mineral supplement I have ever eaten.  I have been supplementing my diet for over thirty-five years.  I became aware of the ALL ONE product through the urging of my wife to have me watch a TV show called Know the Cause hosted by Doug Kaufmann, a very knowledgeable nutritional consultant.  I drink the product in my favorite juice, as prescribed, which can be adjusted and varied in amounts and times used throughout the day to fit your personal needs.  It brings me positive results in as little as thirty minutes.  I will be 74 years young in June 2006.  One of the outstanding noteworthy effects is that tiredness quickly dissipates, replaced by positive energy and an enhancement of clear thinking ensues.  I often drink it if I have to be in attendance at a meeting that will require clear thinking ability and oral participation.  I recommend it without hesitation to everyone desirous of enhancing their health and well-being.  I feel vibrant and the tired feeling I used to often entertain is gone.  Thanks to ALL ONE.”

Healthy Tip

Choose Healthy Oils and Fats

The bottom line is that everybody needs to eat some fat. It allows us to absorb vitamins and disease-fighting phyto-chemicals from the food we consume.

Substituting good fat for bad, will help lower LDL ("bad") cholesterol and reduce your rick of heart disease.

The key is finding a balanced plan that satisfies and works for you. Here are some tips to help you better differentiate the different fat types, sources, and uses:

  1. Monounsaturated fats like olive oil will help to protect your heart. Olive oil is a great choice for cooking, or for use as a dressing or dipping sauce. Other healthy oils include canola and peanut oil. Monounsaturated fats are found in avocados, olives and many nuts (almonds, pistachios, peanuts, cashews).

  2. Polyunsaturated fats come in two types, called Omega 3 essential fatty acids, and Omega 6 essential fatty acids.

Omega 6 essential fatty acids are found in corn, sunflower, safflower and other vegetable oils. These essential fatty acids are important, but we tend to get too many of them and not enough of the Omega 3s.

Fatty fish like wild salmon and sardines are the best source for Omega 3 essential fatty acids. Walnuts, flax seed, and canola oil are all good sources of Omega 3 essential fatty acids.

  3. Saturated fats increase your risk of heart disease and are found in fatty red meat, butter, full-fat dairy products, and palm and coconut oils. Saturated fats should be avoided until your cholesterol levels are down and you are at a healthy weight.

  4. Trans fat, often in snack foods, some commercially baked goods, fried foods, stick margarine, some vegetable shortenings and foods with partially hydrogenated in the ingredients list

Tip: Substitute liquid oil for solid fats. Use about 1/4 less than the recipe calls for. For example, if a recipe calls for 1/4 cup shortening or butter (4 tablespoons), use 3 tablespoons of oil instead.
