Have a Healthy Happy Holiday Season. |
|---|
Stay happy and healthy this holiday season by keeping your nutritional stores high and avoiding the pitfalls of stress and too much sugar.
Are you one of those people who always seem to get sick around the holiday season? It is no surprise really; this is the time of year when your body is really put to the test. Exposure to illnesses is increased, as are your stress levels. This causes your body to use up even more valuable nutrients than usual, often leaving you depleted and susceptible to illness, this is compounded further by the fact that your eating patterns are leaning more towards holiday sweets and libations rather than fresh fruits and veggies. Sound familiar?
Here are a few tips to help get you through this winter season in vibrant health.
Plan some snacks.
This is the time of year when all good eating habits are put aside, no matter how good your intentions. One way to keep a handle on your diet is to plan a few snacks, this will help you keep your blood sugar more stable, avoiding low energy crashes and binge eating. Keep a protein bar or bag of nuts in your car or purse to keep you on track. Another great snack idea is to use ALL ONE Weight Loss mid-morning or mid-afternoon as a tasty shake. ALL ONE Weight Loss is designed to support healthy blood sugar levels, supplying your body with the slow burning carbs and protein rich whey. The combination of nutrients will help keep you going for holiday shopping and parties.
Include ALL ONE daily multivitamin and mineral supplement.
This time of year can be very demanding on not only your monetary bank account but your nutritional bank account as well. With the added stress of the holidays combined with the cold and flu season it is important that we keep our nutritional bank account topped off. The key to staying healthy this winter is to nourish your body's own defenses. The best way to do this is to take a quality, high potency multi vitamin and mineral supplement like ALL ONE daily. With ALL ONE multiple vitamin powders you can be sure you are getting a balanced blend of nutrients enhanced by food based amino acids and digestive enzymes. A particularly helpful formula to offset the seasons over indulgences is the ALL ONE Green Phyto Base. It offers the added support of organic greens, delivering alkaline, chlorophyll rich phytonutrients to minimize the negative effects the holiday fare can have on the body.
Drink plenty of water.
When the weather gets colder it is often difficult to remember to get your fluids. Most headaches occur because despite the number of reminders, people still aren't getting enough water! Headaches and thirst are both signs of dehydration. While at holiday functions try to match every glass of alcohol or coffee you have with a glass or two of water.
Get outside.
During the winter months the days get shorter and we spend a lot more time inside. This can lead to seasonal deficiencies of important nutrients such as Vitamin D. Try to spend at least 5-10 minutes outside each day walking, running or shoveling.
Sleep.
Get a full night's sleep. Everybody's different: your body may need anywhere from 6 to 10 hours of sleep each night. Whatever your personal sleep requirement is, get it! Sleep has been linked to balanced hormone levels (including human growth hormone and the stress hormone, cortisol), keeping weight down, clear thinking and reasoning, improved mood, and vibrant, healthy skin.

"Every winter I used to get bronchitis and would always require a month or so of antibiotics to get over it. I was a firm believer in eating my nutrients that a vitamin was not necessary. My daughter-in-law uses ALL ONE and put a can of ALL ONE for Active Seniors in my Christmas stocking 3 years ago.Well with another bout of bronchitis coming down on me that winter I thought I would give it a try. And guess what? I have not had bronchitis in three years, actually I have not had a cold or flu in THREE years. I am so impressed I now have my entire crafts group taking ALL ONE too. I don’t know much about nutrition but I do know I have never felt healthier and my friends who are taking ALL ONE have had the same great benefits.
Thank you dear daughter-in-law, thank you ALL ONE!"

Quiet Mind Equals Calmness under Pressure
Have you ever noticed that when you are stressed that everything seems to be going at a fast-pace and that you can't seem to think clearly? Taking a moment to quiet your mind can lead to great calmness even when under great pressure. Using relaxation techniques can help you to focus our energy inward to limit the amount of external distractions. I like to think of my breath, or focused exaggerated deep abdominal breathing as my silent partner. As you become more focused on your breathing, or the rhythm of your heartbeat, you will find that your mind becomes more relaxed and can easily reach a more calm state.
The next time you are facing pressure, simply taking a deep inhale to the count of 2 direct into your abdomen, and on the releasing exhale to the count of 4 try to let go of excess thoughts and distractions. Connect the distraction to the exhale by slowly repeating three times on the exhale “I am releasing this distraction from my mind”. It is important to release the distraction on the exhale. Exhale slowly and the distraction will slowly move on into the atmosphere. You may be surprised at how calm you suddenly will become, and how quickly you will master stressful situations.
